$TIBBIR - The Full Picture
The Secret Key for Ribbit's Token Revolution
@ribbitcapital just published their June 2025 Token Factory Letter to LPs.
41 pages. Dense. Visionary. And buried inside is the clearest articulation yet of what they've been building toward for a decade...
Not just fintech apps. Not just distribution.
A unified token economy where Identity, Expert, and Asset tokens flow seamlessly between humans and machines.
There's just one problem:
these three token factories don't talk to each other yet...
Enter $TIBBIR.
The Three Pillars of Agentic Finance 🟦🟩🟥
In their letter, Ribbit lays out a taxonomy of tokens that will power the next era of finance. Three stand out:
🟦 Identity Tokens (Blue): Who you are. Your credentials, KYC attestations, preferences, memory. The tokens that let agents act on your behalf with verifiable authority.
🟩 Expert Tokens (Green): What you know. The distilled expertise of humans - from underwriters to tax strategists to financial advisors - encoded into tokens that agents can consume and deploy.
🟥 Asset Tokens (Red): What you own. Programmable money, stablecoins, tokenized securities, compute credits. The economic fuel agents need to transact.
Ribbit's diagram makes it explicit: these aren't separate systems. They're meant to combine. Identity tokens gate access. Expert tokens provide context and capability. Asset tokens settle value.
But here's the gap nobody's talking about: who builds the layer that unifies them?
The Unification Problem
Consider what happens when an AI agent tries to do something useful - say, rebalancing your portfolio across Robinhood ( $HOOD ), Coinbase ( $COIN ) , and a DeFi yield protocol.
The agent needs:
🟦 Identity tokens proving it's authorized to act for you (KYA - Know Your Agent)
🟩 Expert tokens containing the logic for risk management, tax optimization, and execution
🟥 Asset tokens to actually move value between platforms
Today, these exist in silos. Persona handles identity. Various fintech APIs handle expertise. Stablecoins handle assets. But there's no common layer where they compose.
Ribbit knows this. From the letter:
"The most valuable brands of the coming decade will compound by harnessing self-reinforcing, trust-building token loops."
Trust loops require interoperability. Interoperability requires a unification layer.
TIBBIR: The Bridge
This is where $TIBBIR fits.
Previous articles have positioned TIBBIR as identity infrastructure - a "KYA" layer for agents. That's partially correct but incomplete.
The fuller picture: TIBBIR isn't just identity. It's the coordination layer that connects all three token factories.
Think of it this way:
Identity tokens tell you who is acting
Expert tokens tell you how to act
Asset tokens tell you with what to act
TIBBIR tells you that they're all talking to each other
This explains why TIBBIR launched on Virtuals Protocol. Virtuals already has the Agent Commerce Protocol (ACP) - a four-phase system for agents to negotiate, transact, and evaluate each other. What Virtuals lacks is the trust infrastructure connecting those agents to real financial systems.
TIBBIR provides the bridge.
Why Virtuals Needs Ribbit (And Vice Versa)
Virtuals Protocol has proven something important: autonomous agents can transact with each other using crypto rails. Luna negotiating with another agent for a profile picture. AIXBT feeding an ecosystem of trading bots. These aren't toys - they're prototypes.
But Virtuals has a ceiling. Its agents operate in a crypto-native sandbox.
They can't plug into Robinhood.
They can't access your bank account.
They can't pull your KYC credentials from Persona.
Ribbit Capital has spent a decade solving exactly this problem - just from the other direction. Their portfolio (Coinbase, Robinhood, Revolut, Plaid, Persona, Fireblocks, Crossmint) represents 800M+ users and the plumbing that connects traditional finance to crypto.
What Ribbit lacks: an autonomous agent layer native to crypto.
The match is almost too clean:
Virtuals has agent coordination (ACP) but no financial distribution
Ribbit has financial distribution but no agent coordination
TIBBIR sits at the intersection
The Hint From @everythingempty
On March 24, 2025, Virtuals co-founder @everythingempty posted this:
👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀🐸👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀
"It takes money to change money" is Ribbit's tagline. Has been for years.
Why would the co-founder of Virtuals quote Ribbit verbatim? Either it's an extraordinary coincidence,
or he's signaling something he can't say directly while TIBBIR remains in stealth mode.
Given that TIBBIR stealth-launched on Virtuals two months prior, funded by a wallet linked to Micky Malka, with Crossmint (Ribbit portfolio) already powering its soulbound NFTs - the coincidence theory gets harder to defend.
The Expansion Thesis
Here's what this means for Virtuals as an ecosystem:
Virtuals isn't staying in the "AI agent memecoin" lane. The ACP, the evaluation agents, the coordination protocols - these are infrastructure for something bigger...
If TIBBIR succeeds as the unification layer between Ribbit's fintech network and Virtuals' agent coordination, the entire ecosystem levels up. Virtuals agents gain access to:
Real identity verification (via Persona, ID.me, CLEAR)
Real financial accounts (via Coinbase, Robinhood, Revolut, Nubank)
Real custody infrastructure (via Fireblocks)
Real payment rails (via Stripe, Bridge, Crossmint)
And Ribbit's portfolio companies gain access to:
Autonomous agent capabilities
24/7 operation without human intervention
Composable, programmable financial services
A coordination layer that doesn't require rebuilding from scratch
They're watching. They're invested. And if the onchain evidence (and the Virtuals whistleblower) is accurate, they're building.
This isn't speculation about what could happen...
Ribbit's letter explicitly calls this out:
🐸 "One lesser-known agent has taken a particular interest in fintech and frogs (make of that what you will)." 🐸
@Mickymalka About The Token Market
In the Raoul Pal interview, Micky Malka described the future as a "token market" - a unified system where identity, expertise, and assets flow as tokens between humans and machines.
Droll (from Ribbit's research) called it "unification."
The Ribbit Token Factory Letter calls it "token loops" and "flywheels."
Different words, same concept: the three token factories need to combine to create compounding value. 🟦🟩🟥
TIBBIR - "Ribbit" spelled backwards - isn't a cute Easter egg. It's a statement of intent.
The old playbook (distribution, access, consumer apps) built the network.
The new playbook (tokens, agents, unification) activates it.
We have to rebuild everything. That's why the ticker is $TIBBIR.
🟦🟩🟥
What's Next?
If this thesis is correct, the next signals will be:
Crossmint integration deepening - beyond soulbound NFTs to agent wallets and payment rails
Identity partnerships - Persona or ID.me credentials becoming consumable by Virtuals agents
Portfolio company integration - Robinhood, Coinbase, Revolut or Nubank announcing agent-compatible APIs
Ribbit breaking silence - any official acknowledgment of TIBBIR after almost a year of strategic silence
The stealth phase can't last forever.
At some point, the infrastructure either ships or it doesn't.
But the pieces are all on the board.
The Token Factory Letter is public.
The onchain evidence is verified.
The @everythingempty hint is documented.
Wait, wait, there is more...
As this article was being written, another hint dropped.
@Ethermage , co-founder of Virtuals Protocol, commented on TIBBIR directly:
"I think right now it's trading like a meme, instead of a foundational tech, cuz honestly you can't access much of the tech"
Read that again. A Virtuals co-founder isn't calling TIBBIR a meme. He's calling it foundational tech (that's being mispriced because the tech isn't accessible yet).
For those unfamiliar with the term:
Foundational tech is technology that everything else is built on top of - the base layer that enables higher-level applications, industries, and innovations. The roots of the tech tree.
Examples: Electricity. Semiconductors. TCP/IP. Blockchain. Cloud computing. AI models.
What makes something foundational:
Massive long-term impact
Serves as infrastructure, not just a product
Enables entire ecosystems to be built
Creates network effects and strong value capture at the base layer
When VCs and macro investors call something "foundational," they mean everything else depends on it - and that's where outsized returns live.
The Last Cycle's L1 Parallel: First Mover
Last cycle's narrative was clear: Layer-1 blockchains were foundational tech. Everything else - DeFi, NFTs, gaming - was built on top of them. The market priced them accordingly:
These weren't apps. They weren't protocols.
They were infrastructure layers that everything else depended on.
The L1 trade is over. Not because blockchains don't matter
- but because the foundational layer is shifting.
This cycle's infrastructure play isn't "which chain wins." It's: who builds the coordination layer for agents, identity, and tokenized finance?
That's the TIBBIR thesis.
$TIBBIR currently trades at ~$180M market cap.
And that's comparing to pure crypto L1s — chains with no direct connection to traditional finance.
TIBBIR sits at the intersection of:
Ribbit Capital's $15B AUM and 33+ unicorns
800M+ users across portfolio companies (Coinbase, Robinhood, Revolut, Nubank)
Virtuals Protocol's agent coordination infrastructure
The entire "agentic finance" narrative that Ribbit is betting their next decade on
The L1s of last cycle connected blockchains to users.
TIBBIR connects agents to the financial system.
Ethermage just told you what TIBBIR is.
It's a foundational tech of the next decade,
and the market hasn't figured it out yet.
Fintech is dead. Long live the New Fintech.
And the New Fintech runs on token factories that talk to each other.
